Beaver Local teams proudly display the hardware earned at their Regional Tournament on February 23, 2019, as they prepare to host the first State Destination Imagination Tournament held at the school.
Over 4,000 people are expected on March 30th as students and supporters will gather to watch competitors vie for the chance to represent Ohio at the Global Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri in late May.
Over 700 teams annually participate throughout Ohio’s schools every year. In late Feb. and early March, those teams meet at eleven Regional Tournaments to compete for spots at the State Affiliate Tournament. Teams earning the right to advance will begin arriving in the community Friday, March 29th and compete all day Saturday.
The two award ceremonies will be Live-streamed from the Auditorium and the HS Gym following the competition, and qualifying teams heading to Missouri will then meet to plan the trip to the Global Tournament, where they will compete with teams from all over the United Stated and fifteen foreign countries.
Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization. Its purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Annually, it offers seven new standards-based Challenges in STEM, Improv, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Each Challenge is open-ended and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation.
