Mrs. Nicora was born and raised in Columbiana County. She lived 6 years in San Diego, California and traveled while attending Grossmont College. After returning to the area in 1991, she taught Goshen Jutsu martial arts with her husband Jim for 7 years at the Crystal Dragon in Columbiana, and at the same time oil painting became a passion that led her to teaching privately. In 2000, she began to pursue art and teaching as a full-time career. After receiving a BS in Art Education from Youngstown State University in 2005, she began teaching at Beaver Local School where she taught for the last 10 years, at both the Middle and High School levels. In May of 2013, she received her Master of Arts in Art Education, and has plans to continue her art and painting indefinitely.
- "It is important to me that all of my students know that they are creative individuals, so I try to foster this belief by encouraging self-expression. The arts are a lifestlye for me because I not only teach my students, but I work as an artist in my home studio creating watercolors, oil paintings and glass art."
