Description:  Principles of zoology will be investigated through lecture, labs and discussion. Successful completion of general Biology is a prerequisite. Working with microscopes, living organisms, and dissection of preserved specimens are major components of this course.

Course Objectives:

  • To develop an understanding of the significance of the diversity of life and ecological relationships
  • To examine the physiological and morphological (structural) characteristics of animals which allow them to survive in their environments
  • To identify species of each phyla that are found in Illinois

  • Recycling Extra Credit

    In an effort to encourage more green practices, students may bring in aluminum cans to be recycled for extra credit. 
    Each can = 1 point, students may earn up to 20 points per 9 week grading period.  For more information, see course syllabus!
