History of individuals who served on the Board of Education, Superintendents, and Treasurers (since 1945)

The Beaver Local logo is a registered service mark of the Beaver Local School District with the Secretary of State of the State of Ohio.

The Beaver Local School District is one of the largest rural area districts in the state, covering most of the four townships of Elkton, Madison, Middleton, and St. Clair, and including the villages of Rogers, and Calcutta. The total area is nearly 112 square miles. With 1,985 students, the district is third in enrollment among the 11 school districts comprising the Columbiana County School District. The district transports approximately 99% of the students to its five buildings. The classroom teachers have an average teaching experience of over 14.4 years .

The Board of Education meetings every second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Beaver Local High School Media Center (except four monthly meetings will be scheduled at the other school buildings) for its regular meetings.

Currently, Kent Polen serves as Superintendent and oversees 131 teaching staff, 75 support staff, and 18 administrators and central office staff.

On November 19, 1934, the Columbiana County Board of Education passed a resolution establishing the Beaver Local Rural School District. The district was a consolidation of the following existing rural school districts at that time: Elkrun, Madison, Middleton, Negley, St. Clair, and parts of Center and Fairfield Centralized. Later, the name of Beaver Local Rural School District was changed to Beaver Local School District.

Beaver Local Schools and the business community has formed educational partnerships to enhance the educational environment throughout the community. The Calcutta Area Chamber of Commerce has sponsored several events for students and staff.
