Beaver Local is excited to announce the first ever Maker Space/Steam month. A maker space is a collaborative workspace designed to allow making, learning, and exploration through the use of various tools and materials. These spaces allow students to use critical thinking skills to work through the design process in order to make something out of nothing. STEAM activities involve Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math.
A total of 75 students will have the opportunity to participate. The first 25 students in grades 4, 5, and 6 will be chosen. Letters were sent home Friday, February 4th. This is an after-school program that will be held from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm each Wednesday in March. We plan to have future programs at Beaver Local in order to involve as many students as possible in these STEAM activities.
